The I Ching is an ages old Chinese divination manual that dates back from Fei Zhi of the Han Dynasty. A hexagram is determined based on the elements and the forces of nature. Each hexagram is made up of two trigrams, each symbolizing a force of nature; Earth, Mountain, Wind, Water, Thunder, Fire, Lake and Heaven.

There are 64 possible hexagrams, and many possible fortunes. Traditional I Ching divinations are performed either with dice, yarrow sticks, or coins to determine each solid or broken line of the trigrams and hexagrams.
